Visually compare MySQL data and sync the differences

You had requested for a visual tool to compare two instances of a table to spot differences. We heard that. We are delighted to introduce Visual Data Compare (VDC) in SQLyog 10.5. It lets you do exactly that and more. VDC allows you to compare two tables right next to each other making it easier to spot differences. It is a lot simpler than manually figuring it out all by yourselves.

VDC also doubles as an additional option for data sync. With VDC you will be able to compare differences visually and specify tables and rows that shall be synced as well as to decide in what direction to sync. It comes very handy when you want to copy lookup data from development databases to staging or production in cases where you for any reason don’t feel safe about having an automatic sync job running unattended in the background.

    Hi guys

Thanks for this feature. I really hoped it would be able to show me all the tables that have differences automatically though. Not having it do this means an incredibly useful and unique feature isn’t in the product yet. That is to do a full snapshot comparison of two databases.

With the current interface, on a database with say 100 tables its incredibly time consuming and laborious to compare each table for differences which is what the interface forces you to do.

It would be a fantastic update to allow whole database comparison if you could automate this to loop through all the tables selected for comparison and only show those in the drop down in the final main compare screen.

I was looking forward to the visual compare, but now I’ve seen it I’m very disappointed.

As suggested comparing a table at a time is time consuming, also you don’t know which tables have changes so you need to go through each at a time.

I was hoping to see something like what toad does, that compares everything, gives you a nice list of differences and then you can select individual rows to alter if needed.
